Om El Romina

Om el Romina is one of our best trail horses. She exemplifies the calm and sweet disposition bred by Sigi and Jay Constanti and Om el Arab. We call her our “Bay Estopa” her structure demonstrates the gorgeous head with big gentle eyes, graceful movement and a smooth topline that the Constanti’s repeatedly produce. We feel privileged to own Romina the daughter of Balih el Jamaal whose pedigree is rare. Several world champions are related to Romina, currently, ‘Robin K’. Curiously, Romina’s star on her forehead forms the shape of India’s initials “Ib”. We look forward with great anticipation to the 2008 foal by Jullyen el Jamaal.

Om El Nadzea

Om el Nadzea is a muscular athletic mare trained English. She exemplifies the Polish outcross to the Estopa/ El Shaklan line. Woven into her pedigree is a very rare line of the grey son of Eukaliptus, Szanghai out of Bask daughter named Szanta. Her Pedigree also includes Nariadni. Om el Nadzea gave us the beautiful Bay filly, SD Primavera by Monogramm in 2006. SD Primavera can be viewed on the News Section of our site. SD Primavera carries on a big athletic trot with a willing and kind disposition. Om el Nadzea is also our pleasure riding and after this years 2007 foal by Monogramm we will give her a break from motherhood and she will return to training and show.

In August 2005 we happened to be on the California Central Coast visiting friends when we realized that the Varian Summer Fling was taking place. On the spur of the moment we decided to drop in at Sheila Varian’s and catch some of the presentation. That day, walking through the barn, we came across Firefly V. We remembered her mother the pure Polish grey mare, Fantos from Fantastka the great racing mare. Once we realized that Firefly V was a daughter of Sanadik el Shaklan we went to purchase her, however, several names were ahead of us with the same request.

We continued home a drive of about 4 or 5 hours. Just as we pulled into our driveway in the San Francisco Bay Area, the phone began ringing. We rushed through the door and found Angela Alvarez on the line saying that Firefly V could be ours if we wanted her. Of cource, we would like to have her. A surprise came with our agreement to purchase her, Firefly V was infoal to Bravado Bey V. We were blessed with the gorgeous colt SD Fortunate Son that David will show at halter this year. He is featured in our ad in the AHW Quarterly this season.

Brumarba Briana

When Gerry Alexander brought us to see his ranch that we would eventually purchase, Brumarba Briana accompanied us on our hike around the property. I caught a glimpse of her lope and knew immediately that she had exceptional movement for a Western and Trail horse. I said, half joking to Gerry “ If we buy the property will you throw in that mare?” He never forgot that statement in passing, and many months later at the closing of the property, Gerry Alexander and Bruce Clark asked us if we would like to have the papers to Brumarba Briana. We could hardly believe they had not forgotten comment.

Briana is the Supreme Mother of the ranch. She knows all the fence lines and greets everyone first who comes to visit. All others wait their turn. She has been in training with the Lacey’s. She is trained both English and Western. She is a solid large mare representing the sires in her pedigree, Comar Bay Beau, Barich de Washoe and Khemosabi.

Shahmaans Sarita

Shahmaans Sarita represents the outcross of her pure Spanish dam, Avellana to OM el Shahmaan with the Carmargue cross to Estopa/El Shaklan lines. Every horse of Sarita’s immediate family is exotically beautiful. Just reading down her Grand Sire and Dam lines you have,
Sanadik el Shaklan, Om el Shaina, *La Saguro and Jaleas ET. This unique parentage carries with it another gift, the Tetrarch or Chubari gene which causes her to grey out with white polka-dots.

Like the sweet Spanish horse of her ancestry and the horses from Om el Arab, Sarita thinks that she is part of the household and is extremely loving and gentle. This year my piano students came to visit the ranch and on that day Sarita calmly stood for an extended period of time while my students brushed and groomed her for their first experience with horses. Sarita has been shown in Halter and will begin her training under saddle this spring.

We are honored to have a mare bred by Margit Bentley of Geneva Arabians. For us, Margit is an artist in Arabian horse breeding. Major Makette GA came to us on Thanksgiving 2006. She carries that great trot of her father Major Afire. She knows that she is a highly bred mare and commands ones attention with her classic presence, intelligence, pride and dignity. Makette dances in place when we enter her stall. She is loyal and loving.
